New figures released show that road fatalities have fallen by 82 and seriously injured by 529 on the previous year. This has been accredited to the improving road system within the whole of Portugal and safer driving, but I wonder has it to do with the high fuel costs which have taken more drivers off the road and speeds reduced to improve how many litres of fuel per 100 km travelled? Will the figures further reduce this year again with higher unemployment, reduced tourism and the uncertainty of the worlds economy?
What do you think?
