Alberto Accountant chooses the Return to the Algarve for its debut in 2009

Alberto Accountant already has decided its calendar of competition in 2009 from the beginning of season to the Tour of France, its maximum objective of the year. After the first concentration in Tenerife and its previous operation in the nasal partition, the leader of the Astana is training satisfactorily, although still he limits his work volume sessions, to prepare itself gradually to realise efforts of greater intensity.

“I do not have been nor a month of effective work”, says to Alberto Accountant from its house of Pinto (Madrid), “I am only making volume and progressively I will be increasing the intensity to arrive something the more preparation at the 1 of February, when the second concentration of the year is predicted, in California”.

Indeed, the Astana equipment will meet in California from the 1 to the 10 of February to realise the first concentration of 2009, from which the season of competition for Accountant will begin indeed. “After returning, I will be one week in house before traveling to Portugal to run the Return to the Algarve (18 to the 22 of February). They have spoken to me of that race and I have many desire very well to run there, because I have never competed in Portugal. At that time the climate is very good and I believe that it will be a good site to begin the 2009, after the Return to Valencia has not become”.

After this debut, Accountant will continue with a very familiar program for him. “The following race will be Paris-Nize, that always I have liked much and of which I keep a great memory from the last time I ran that it (won in 2007)”. Accountant will continue soon by very well-known scenes, the Return to Castilla-Leon and the Return to the Basque Country. “First he is in dates very good to be able to make a first test, whereas second he marks the end of this first cycle of competition”.

After Basque Country, Accountant will take a rest before initiating the preparation way towards the Tour of France. “I will make some concentrations to inspect the stages of the Tour, will make training specific to improve so much in scaling as against clock and will run Dauphiné Libéré before taking the exit of the Tour”.

At the moment, Alberto Accountant thinks that “it is soon for drawing conclusions on my physical state. I have cut with all the winter commitments and already am centered to the 100% in the training, but it is obvious that this year I am a little delayed with respect to other seasons, although is something that does not obsess to me. Of until Castilla-Leon, that can be when it already is for disputing, although I will not obsess myself either here, is long time”.
